Outcome

This Contract award gave Genus the opportunity to be involved in the new battery minerals boom, which was set to reset the WA mining landscape.

The project expanded Tianqi’s production capacity to meet the growing demand for lithium concentrates, a key material in the manufacture of lithium ion batteries, which are used in electric vehicles, battery storage and consumer electronics. The processing plant is the largest of its kind in the world and will produce the highest quality battery grade lithium hydroxide in the market place.
