Overview

McConnell Dowell awarded Genus the electrical, instrumentation and piping installation packages on the Amrun Export Facility Project – a construction project that will support Rio Tinto’s future mining operations south of Weipa in far North Queensland.
 
The project included the construction of a greenfield bauxite mine adjacent to Rio Tinto’s existing bauxite mines as well as the construction of an accommodation village, processing plant, dam, tailings storage facility, export wharf, ferry terminal, and a number of roads. 
 
Our scope included the fabrication and installation of piping to wharf modules, and on-site supply, installation and testing of the both the piping and electrical works associated with the construction of the wharf and jetty.
