Warradarge 330 kV Wind Farm Line

Overview

Developed by Bright Energy Investments, the proposal was for the construction of 51 Wind Turbines each up to 152m high. The site is located 15km north-east of Warradarge, Shire of Coorow and Shire of Carnamah.
 
Genus was awarded the design and construction of 10.5km of 330kV Transmission Line to connect the project to the state grid.
 
The works compromised the following stages:

• Foundation Construction Stage
• Pole and Tower Erection Stage
• Stringing and Cut-In Stage
• Commissioning and Handover Stage

Scope of Works

Design and Construct 1 x 10km 330kV Transmission Lines connecting the Warradarge windfarms to the Western Power grid.

Outcome

Leveraging our considerable experience, we were able to design the Transmission Line to be consistent with the project’s environmental imperatives. By use of poles rather than towers the impact on the cadastral area was greatly minimised. This was not only to benefit the environment but also the local farms which crop the area which the Transmission Line traverses.
